Dental veneers are ultra-thin shells that are used to cover the front of your teeth, helping to clean up their appearance. Dental veneers are made of tooth-colored materials, so they match the surrounding teeth. If you have a tooth that is stained, misshapen, worn down, or slightly chipped, a veneer can cover the irregularity and improve the appearance of your smile.
Am I A Good Candidate for Dental Veneers?
We can help you determine whether dental veneers are the right choice for you when you come in for a consultation. In general, if you have experienced any of the following, you can consider getting dental veneers:
- You have teeth that are stained or discolored.
- You have teeth that are crooked or misshapen.
- You have a large gap between your teeth.
- You have a tooth that is broken or chipped.
The Process
You will need to visit us twice to receive your dental veneers. At the first visit, we’ll prepare your tooth to receive the veneer. We’ll also take an impression of your tooth. This impression gets sent to the lab so we can create a veneer that perfectly fits the size and shape of your tooth.
Finally, we may give you a temporary veneer to protect your tooth while the permanent veneer is being created at the lab.
When you come for your second visit, we’ll remove the temporary veneer. Then we’ll check to make sure that your permanent veneer fits your tooth properly. When you and Dr. Anderson are sure that the veneer is the right fit, we’ll bond it to your tooth.
